A chic summer wedding at the William Vale

New York was experiencing a heat wave. It was late July in the city, and one of the hottest summers on record, but you wouldn’t know it by Leah & Joe’s calm demeanor and the way they embraced every second of the day. July 23, 2022 was one to remember!

When Leah & Joe first reached out, they mentioned their desire to have a slightly “non-traditional” wedding format. Their main priority was to host a chic cocktail hour at Westlight at the William Vale to kick off the evening prior to moving upstairs to the turf rooftop for an intimate ceremony with Manhattan as the backdrop. Then back downstairs for a stationed dinner and dancing. I was ALL IN!

Leah opted to get ready at the William Vale with Julia Valldi providing the glam and her sweet pup Alejandro en tail. Joe then joined on the terrace of their sweet for a windswept first look and couple’s photos. Just one look at their style told me this was going to be a FUN wedding ;)

Guests then joined Leah & Joe at West Light for an Indie-Rock cocktail hour with signature drinks and music provided by DJ Hesta Prynn. We moved guests to the tippy top of one of New York City’s chicest hotels for the ceremony. The couple opted to stand in front of a gorgeous floral arch design by Rachel Cho Floral Design and the Empire State Building as guests were escorted up - no processional for these two!

After a loving ceremony officiated by Leah’s brother and music provided by electric violinist Molly Fletcher, guests were escorted back down to Westlight for a feast overlooking the city. We opted against a traditional seated dinner format in favor stations full of sliders, pasta, cheese spreads, salads, curly fries…the lot! Guests piled their plates and found seats overlooking the nearly 360-degree view before speeches from the Father of the Bride and the couple themselves brought everyone back together.

Pro Tip: Accompany your couple’s speech with tequila shots for all guests!

DJ Hesta Prynn sprung into back to action to get the dance floor started prior to taking one more break for a (very sweaty) cake cutting of the gorgeous 4-tiered cake by Millers & Makers. Guests embraced the heat and danced the night away to early 2000s rock and modern pop hits before being greeted with Krispy Kreme donuts and branded lapel pins on their way out the door.

A huge shoutout to Stylish Hip Weddings for capturing this evening in such amazing fashion! P.S. check out their blog post HERE.

Leah & Joe, we wish you nothing but the best <3
